De Norsemen Kclub of Nigeria



De Norsemen Kclub International, RC: 7458, is a humanitarian organisation committed to service to humanity, good governance and conflict resolution founded at University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria by some students, namely: Prince Belema George, Dr Sam Gambo and Dr Sovens Okari.

De Norsemen Kclub International has active presence in the following states of Nigeria:

De Norsemen Kclub International holds annual International Converges where national and international issues are discussed with a view to building a sane society where good governance, justice, equality, economic prosperity, democracy and human rights are entrenched. It also affords the Kclub an opportunity to discuss and evaluate the progress of the Kclub as well as its members.

The International Converges have been held in Asaba, Owerri, Portharcourt, Uyo, Calabar, Lagos, Abuja, Aba, Umuahia, Yenegoa, etc. The Kclub's Converges have also been held in USA, Ghana, Malaysia, UAE, etc, to underscore the international status of the organization. Beside the International Converges, local and international chapters hold their own internal Converges to strengthen the Kclub.

The leadership of the organisation has also introduced Zonal Converges to bring the activities of the Kclub to the doorstep of their members. The maiden edition of the Zonal Converges will be held in Enugu, Southeast Nigeria from September 6 to 8, 2019. It is tagged, Coalina 2019.

1. DE NORSEMEN KCLUB is an organization committed to fighting injustice. We believe in God, Brotherhood of man, love and justice. The Motto of the Kclub shall be "DOOTY IS DOOTY" otherwise referred to as “SERVICE TO HUMANITY’.

Section 2. The purpose of the Kclub is to unite all people despite their tribes, tongues, religion and contribute towards the development of people in the society. The Kclub aims: A. To help/assist/encourage the under-privileged and vulnerable people in the society. B. To co-operate with other Organizations with similar objectives.

C. To engage in activities like talk shows, symposium, communal programmes, seminar, etc that will promote and encourage responsible national development D. To participate/initiate programmes and activities organized by government and other relevant agencies to support the development of young people, the under-privileged, and oppressed etc. E. To affiliate and engage in exchange programmes with relevant foundations and associations. F. To organize programmes that will enhance societal awareness on the plight of young people. G. To raise funds and other resources to fulfil the aims and objectives of the Kclub. H. To do all that is necessary to facilitate the attainment of the aims and objectives of the Kclub within the confines of this constitution I. To carry out the work of the Kclub with love, commitment and compassion.

Section 3. In carrying out the purpose of De Norsemen Kclub, the organization shall strive to personify and encourage three ideals: A. the acquisition and dissemination of information and knowledge through scholarship, B. the application of professional skills and the fostering of leadership qualities by promoting and advancing the welfare of humanity, and C. the fostering of non-discriminatory, fraternal fellowship within De Norsemen Kclub's ranks

In addition, in a paper presented at the second quarter mini-converge of the organisation at Nandons Hotel, in Enugu State; the president Bond Ohuche and Belema George (one of the founding fathers of the group) asserted that De Norsemen Kclub of Nigeria is not a secret cult,[citation needed].


The objective of the Kclub according to the official website[1][failed verification] is to

establish an international brotherhood that shall sustain the well-being of members and integrity of the kclub, and to use all resources at their disposal to be among world leadership, starting from member's communities, within the ambient of the land’s law. The kclub also drive all resources to direct energy towards economic development and wipe out unemployment and poverty. According to the group's website: "We also ensure to establish the respect for human dignity and sanctity of human life; encourage labour and intellectual industry; preserve our environment from degradation and promotion of National and International Peace; and uphold God as the Foundation of our ship and abhor in its totality all, ethnic, religious, racial and status discrimination.

According to the group's website, developed by Adewumi Roland, a primary stakeholder, also known as Captain Roland, the De Norsemen Klub also:

"struggles to protect the oppressed and the weak of the society, objectives of which are to promote corrective measures for defence of the masses against all social vices militating against its progress. These include deprivation, corruption, injustice, victimization, and undemocratic measures. The Kclub’s main objective is to fight against 'sacrilege, vandalism, smuggling, hoarding, trespass, touting, conspiracy, pilfering, terrorism, and insubordination, extortion, impropriety, kidnapping, piracy, intrusion, hijacking, quackery, bunkering, banditry, political extremism, false alarm, and guerrilla warfare'"[2][failed verification][3][failed verification]

The group's website also states that the group aims are:

  • "To establish an international Brotherhood that shall sustain the well – being of members and integrity of the Ship.
  • To harness all our RESOURCES to take over Leadership of our Communities, LGAs, State and Nation within the ambient of the laws of the land.
  • To direct all our energy towards Economic development in all spheres of our National / International life, to wipe out unemployment, unproductiveness, and poverty, first on Board our ship, then the Nation at large.
  • To establish the respect for human dignity and sanctity of human life
  • To encourage labour and intellectual industry.
  • To preserve our environment from degradation and promotion of National and International Peace.
  • To uphold God as the Foundation of our ship and abhor in its totality all, ethnic, religious, racial and status discrimination"[citation needed]

In June 2009, the group held a conference at the Nandons Hotel in Enugu, where national political issues were discussed. The inauguration was also held of the executive committees of five state chapters, as well as the celebration of the birthday of the founding father of the club, Belema George.[4]


Membership of De Norsemen Kclub International is open to all Nigerian graduates without regards to religious,ethnic or social backgrounds. These are set by the De Norsemen Supreme Council, and decided by the Governor on individual applications. De Norsemen Klub initiates every two years, and all applicants must be sponsored by a fraternal brother who has been a member for at least three years. For admission to the De Norsemen Kclub International, applicants must have a baccalaureate degree with a grade point average of at least 3.0 out of 4.0. Applicants also undergo a background check (no criminal record) and series of interviews before admission, must have university degree or O.N.D, H.N.D or equivalent. Members and intending members must ensure that they do not have a criminal record and good and credible means of livelihood.

The structure of De Norsemen Kclub of Nigeria is a hierarchical brotherhood, themed as a ship with a crew of brothers and sailors.
